Mag's and Gwen's Birthday At Paulaner!

A quick entry before hitting my books!

We celebrated Gwen's and Maggie's birthday at Paulaner this year. I've only been to Paulaner for drinks and didn't know they serve food on the second floor. Heck! I didn't even know they have a second floor. Haha!

I love their pork knuckles! The meat is so tender, it doesn't taste like pork! I think it was one of the best roast pork knuckles I've ever tasted!

Pictures taken with Ba Jie. She is a girl who seldom take offense at my teasing (though I'm careful not to go overboard). Good sport! And she is rather quick on her feet too! We could throw punches back and forth all night. Haha!

The two birthday girls! I can't believe I have known them for 5 years already! They were my first colleagues!

Happy Birthday to YOU!

I love the lightings!

Let's meet up soon to go clubbing!

P.S. I love my camera and the pictures taken!

The Bride-to-be's Birthday

We celebrated our first-girl-to-get-married's birthday on Saturday. It was held at her house again after a one year hiatus.

At first, we thought of hitting the clubs after her birthday dinner. But it was cancelled in the end. By the way, I never knew that clubbing is such a excellent incentive for me. I managed to finish my reflection essay two weeks before it was due because I wanted to go clubbing without feeling guilty. Hmm.. Maybe I should ask my friends out to club whenever assignments are due soon. =P

Anyway, we had fun playing Mahjong!

Birdie and I were shocked that they were still at 南风 when we reached at 630pm as they started playing at 430pm. All due to .... Ah Bun. Haha!

Our scrumptious dinner!

The birthday cake from Bakerzin. It was sooo much better than the brownie cake from Polar, according to the rest.

Our pictures with the birthday girl!

Here's the first time I introduce Jaw's fiance in my blog. He is going to be part of our one big family soon!

I can still remember the day when Jaws first introduced him to us. Let me dig up the photo then...

Our young and youthful faces! This brings back a lot of memories... (5 years ago, when we were 19) =)

Compare then and now! Haha! Reality check. Bleagh...

Our portraits done by Xiao Pang. Somehow, I couldn't decide whether I like the pictures or not. They seemed to compliment and insult us at the same time. 高招. Haha!

Lastly, I wanna end off with ...

.... Happy Birthday girl! I am so excited about your wedding! =D

24th Birthday!!

I had a great time celebrating my birthday this year!! A lot of feasting, drinking and singing were done. Happy! I had a way better time than celebrating the chinese new year. Nothing happened much during new year except that I went to work part time as a car cleaner on the eve.

Anyway, back to my birthday celebrations! The first celebration was with Maggie, Gwen and Ba Jie at Brewerkz!

They bought me the coolest eyeliner I ever seen! And I am so in love with it. =)

We spent 5 long hours, sitting in Brewerkz, talking about everything under the sun, or rather, moon. From ghost stories, to insects and cats phobia, to Ba Jie's investments, to us opening a mani and pedi salon together. Come to think of it, girls are rather formidable creatures, eh? =P

The second celebration was with my Enemies loves! Birdie was not in town this time round. You missed the treat, girl! We went to the Scarlet Hotel for lunch!

Our food! Potions were too small. Bleagh...

Celebrated with Huli this time round. So we shared the birthday cake!

I like this picture because I looked slim! Haha! I know it's illusion lar..

Cam-whoring time!

I love them! (Birdie, see, you are always on our mind!)

Third celebration with our Secondary School girls at La Villa! We can always trust Wan Lin to bring us to a place with good ambience and food!

Our food! I just realised that we never took photos of the desserts! My favourite panna cotta....

The sweet girls whom I have know for 11 years! And I have known Sherlyn for 13 years!

After the dinner, Wan Lin and me felt like clubbing but the other were not that keen. In the end, we went sing K! Haha! Our favourite activity!

On my actual day, I celebrated my birthday with my family. It was a nice simple affair at a Teochew restaurant after visiting the temple (coz it was the last day of the lunar new year).

On the 4th of March, my NIE clique celebrated my birthday for me at Catherine's house! She has a KTV system at her place and gamely suggested cooking for us!

Her KTV system is super cool! We had the whole block as our audience. Haha!

Chef Cat and her super spicy but delicious spahgetti!

Mahjong time after it was getting too late to blast the block!

Pictures taken and designed using a cool app in iPhone! Oh my.. I want an iPhone!

I want to end off by thanking my friends who spent time, money and effort celebrating my birthday with me! I feel very blessed and loved during occasions like this! It makes growing old worth it (at least for that day). Haha! *Hugs*

Huli's 23rd Birthday~!

It is another "birthday" entry again. =P This time round, we celebrated Huli's Birthday at "Su", a Korean restaurant at Clarke Quay. Btw, Huli's real name is Pui Shan, which I have conveniently forgot and called her "Yeow Shan" instead. Haha!

The food was pretty alright. The most "tasty dish" is the manager of the restaurant. Haha! I believe he is a Korean and he has super charming looks. Yummy~ Haha! A feast for the eyes.

After dinner, we made our way to starbucks for coffee. On the way there, we spotted a good place for photo-taking. The travellator in the underground link to One Fullerton! The shots were quite unusual and I love it!

It seems that this year, we are in the mood of teasing the birthday girl. We bought Hello Kitty panties and fake candles for Birdie and Huli got Kueh Lapis for birthday cake. Haha!

Traditional shots with the birthday girl. (Why is my picture with Huli so dark??)

We also took some group polariods! It was quite embarrassing because we got to ask a stranger to take 7 shots of us! In the end, we split into 2 polariod taking sessions. Haha! After asking a guy to help us take about 4 polariods, we waited for the crowd to clear in Starbucks and asked a new guy who just walked in. Luckily, the two guys were great sports and didn't mind leaving the queue to help us. =P

Anyway, wanna wish Huli a HAPPY 23RD BIRTHDAY!! Her actual birthday is tomorrow, on the 19th! If you want, you can go to her blog to wish her happy birthday! (P.S. I got her blog address the other time.)

Ethel's 3rd Birthday!

So many birthdays this month.. It was Ethel's birthday last Sunday. She turned 3 this year! How time flies...

We took her shopping for presents at Toys"R"Us prior to the celebration. We were in there for an hour, looking for toys after toys but found none suitable. In the end, Ethel just wanted a cheap toy car. She was, surprisingly, so easy to satisfy. Haha!

We had the birthday celebration at Ethel's Grandma's house which is one door away from mine. Haha! So it was very convenient.

Her Mum asked a friend to cook for the party who used to work as a hawker. The roast pork was bought by my cousin.

This post is going to be filled with many pictures of my niece and nephews. I just love taking pictures of children! They are so natural, so cute, so funny....

Ethel and Alvin singing to wordless songs which tunes they made up on the spot.

A VERY adorable picture of Alvin! And I just realised that he has grown so much!

I love this picture. 3 years old Ethel looking at herself when she was 2 years old.

And then it was cake-cutting time! My cousin bought the cake from Bakerzin. They were very generous with the strawberries!! Alas, I don't eat strawberry. =P

Picture with Ethel. I was looking very "cui" coz I was rushing my assignments for the past few days and I don't feel the need to dress up when they are just next door from me. Haha!

Again, I wanna end the post with a picture of Ethel.....

.......and to say that we still love her very much.

Birdie's Birthday!!

We had our first birthday celebration in the year! It was Birdie's birthday! This year, due to the influence of the "Little Nonya" tv show, we had Peranakan food for the birthday lunch. Birdie's treat!

We went to a Peranakan restaurant called "Ivin's" at Binjai Park. When we had settled down, suddenly Jaws turned to me and said, "This place reminds me of Bangkok". I totally agreed! It looks like our hotel, Samran Place! We got very nostalgic. It didn't help that both Jaws and me dreamed of Bangkok the night before.

Anyway, here's what we ordered! The portions were very small so we had to order many dishes.

The food was pretty alright; I am not a big fan of Peranakan food except for their Kueh-Kuehs. The company, on the other hand, made the dining experience excellent! I love having lunch with my Enemies on a Saturday afternoon! It was so cosy, warm and comfortable. =)

After the satisfying lunch, we went to my brother's friend's place for ICE-CREAMS! It was at King's Centre and the place is called "Swirl". Their Gelato ice-creams are SUPER good!! Especially their Peanut Butter ice-cream, Almond Longan ice-cream, Rum and Raisin ice-cream... I could go on and on.

And then it was cake-cutting time! This time, we had homemade cheesecake that was absolutely fabulous made by an expert pattissier. She is none other than ME! Haha!

Xiao Pang bought those blow-until-I-can-die-but-they-are-still-burning-candles for Birdie. Haha! We kept cheering her on and she really tried her best but those candles really worked. In the end, we had to douse the candles in a cup of water before the cake drowned in a pool of saliva.

The cake's texture turned out well but the cheese was a bit sour and "lime-ly". I think the reason is because I added too much lemon juice. And the stupid NTUC in Jurong Point didn't have those normal, yellow lemons. Instead, they had these Australia Lemon-LIME which was too "lime-ly". Haiz.. Spoilt the taste.

Pictures with the birthday girl.

Birdie wanted a drawer for her birthday which exceeds our budget. So, we gave her Ang Bao instead. But what's a birthday without presents?? Therefore, we gave her HELLO KITTY PANTIES!! Haha! Well, she is a big fan of Hello Kitty....

Smile lar, Birdie.. You know you love it! Hahaha!!

****************************************************

Xiao Pang brought Ah Bun her Christmas present. We exploded into laughter when we saw what she did for An Bun. Even the waiter burst out laughing! Haha!

Ah Bun kept saying she is Yue Niang in the "Little Nonya" tv show and so....

She got to be BUN-Niang!!! Hahahaha!

*************************************************

After that, we spent the rest of the afternoon playing Taboo which we borrowed from the ice-cream shop.

*Sigh happily* How I wish all my Saturdays are like that... =)
