Looking fresh after yelling at some Hong Kong tourists to shut their mouth at 630am in the morning. Revenge is sweet.
Day 3 started with a minor episode between our driver and another driver 郭先生. 郭先生 led us to believe that he was there to take over Zhang 先生. Very bad man. Luckily, Zhang 先生 called me so we managed to take his cab instead.
(Actually, it is very competitive over there in Taiwan. I believe that most cab drivers and Minsu owners are aiming to be tour guides as well as it is a more lucrative business.)
That aside, we switched to a Minsu for our third night. And it was BEAUTIFUL!! And cheaper than the hotel too! The Minsu is called 恋海126.
恋海126 at night.
We forgot to email the Minsu back in Singapore, hence our original room was taken. =( That room has a seaview! But our room was not bad too. Very very cosy and nicely decorated. It looks like a boutique hotel.

While waiting for our driver, we went to the beach just opposite the Minsu....
And did the "jumping into the air" stunt.
After many fail attempts....
Yay!
Fail!
Passed!
Our first stop in Kenting was 沙岛.
Nothing much there.
Next, we stopped at 鹅騾鼻公园 (Er Luo Bi Park). It has a famous lighthouse.
The rock-like structure beside me is actually a dustbin. Haha!
The third stop was 龙磐公园 (Longpan Park). When we reached the cliff, the place was SUPER WINDY! When I lifted my foot, I could feel streams of wind rushing under my foot. It was a super weird feeling. The wind was so loud that we got to shout to be heard. We were so scared of being blown away.
Being blown to one side.
The fourth stop was 风吹砂 (Feng Chui Sha).
This is a very interesting place. In Summer, the sand is blown into the ocean. In the Winter, the sand is blown back up. Cool right?
This is one of the many piles of driftwood washed ashore from the 88水灾 which occurred last year.
The fifth stop was a hanging bridge that we must pay to walk across. The bridge ends in nowhere. -_-".. So, we did the smart thing and just took pictures of it. Heh.
Zhang大哥 also brought us around Kaohsiung 古城 to take photos of the fortress walls.
Next stop, lunch!! He brought us to a famous 包shop which we saw in one of the television programmes just the night before! The shop is called 小杜包子.
The place was packed with people. We had to even take queue number! The buns were all sold out right before our number was called. Luckily, the next batch was out soon. Phew... I had the bacon bun and the cheese bun. The bacon bun was yummy and very filling. End up I couldn't stuff in the cheese bun.
The sixth stop was 猫鼻头. Why is it called 猫鼻头?
Zhang大哥 started to lead us off the tourist track. It started to get very difficult to walk. Moreover, we were in our slippers and PX was in a dress.
We spotted an altar in one of the crevices. According to Zhang大哥, the altar is set up for 南海娘娘, a Goddess of Mercy.
I'm going to give a warning here. This post is going to be bombed with many many pictures of us at 猫鼻头. The view was just too spectacular for words.
We managed to climb up the back of the "cat"! Catcalls and cheers were heard when we were up there. They came from the Taiwanese students up above on the tourist tracks.
Can you spot the students?
Next stop: 白砂 It is just a beach. Nothing much.
The eighth stop: 關山(Guan Mountain)
The divine rock that looks like a tortoise.
Saw the sunset.
The last stop: 出火
This place is very special. Because of the methane gas rising from the ground, the fire never stop burning, despite heavy rainfalls.
And then it was dinner time! Finally.. We had 冬粉鸭 and Salmon sashimi again!
And then it was goodnight world!
(P.S. Wah.. My longest post yet.)
